Interlude is an imaginary dialogue of two middle-aged women. The starting material of the videos is a series of theatre screen-plays from the plays by both actors - Lenka Krobotová and Daniela Voráčková. The author choose the speeches which were then re-played by the actors in neutral environment. Tension is built between the original text of the screen-play and its position in the context of video projection. Statemens, deprived of its theatre anchorage, appear in a timeless, new reality without the original connotations. The author called the situation "dialogue of monologues". Dialogue or understanding happens only incidentally. Thanks to the larger number of screen-plays (about 15), we can recognize the actors' typology of both women. The speeches by both of them seem to be suprisingly coherent. In videos by Tereza Velíková, speech is not a simple means of understanding, its constituent parts are various reticences and silences. Also here, mistakes and fluffs were integrated, as well as quotes from older works with the same actor, elements of irony and humor. Interplay attempts to grasp, what could happen with theatrical text further, what theatre itself could be outside of the theatre hall. It motivates us to thinkg about universality and theatrality of the extreme emotions. By tearing out the screen-plays from the theatrical reality it inspires to contemplate about the roles that we receive and are forced to play in various situations, about desires and possibilities to leave these roles behind, to step away from the learned patterns of communication, use words differently. At the end actors leave - perhaps somewhere, where understanding is still possible.

Tereza Velíková (1979) deals in her works - mostly video installations - with the themes of understanding. She researches the relationship of image and sound especially speech. Uses various structures of communication and formats of discourse, works with the (im)possibility of sharing via language. She studied conceptual and intermedia department at VŠUP in Prague and did her PhD. studies at the Academy in Prague. Together with Tereza Severová and Barbora Zachovalová started the gallery Entrance, located in glass-house in Břevnov monastery gardens in Prague.
